Here's what astrology cannot do for you: it can't tell you when to buy a new car, and it can't tell you when you're going to meet someone nice on Match.com. Sorry!
I practice "evolutionary astrology". It's not fortune-telling - instead, it predicts the inner work of your soul. Evolutionary astrology assumes that you are here to grow and learn, and hopefully, to evolve into something higher during your life. It assumes that you have free will, and complete freedom to choose your own path. Evolutionary astrology empowers you to make those choices by unclouding the limiting ways you see yourself.
The Questions
Like spiritual paths and metaphysics, astrology asks the big questions:
Who are you?
Why are you here?
What lessons are the difficult times in your life trying to teach you?
What gifts are the easier times in your life trying to offer you?
While spiritual paths help you to frame those questions in a broad sense, astrology offers intensely personal answers that are unique to you alone.
The History
Evolutionary astrology is based upon Western astrology, an art and science which has been used since at least
2,000
BC, blending the wisdom, mythology, symbolism, mathematics and astronomy of the Chaldeans, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans and Persians. The planets were gods to the ancients, and astrologers interpreted their intentions for leaders and kings.
Today, astrology is enjoying a renaissance, with many of the best astrologers practicing Evolutionary Astrology. We are learning from and combining our work with astrological traditions and wisdom teachings from cultures all around the world.
The Raw Materials
As an evolutionary astrologer, my essential tool is your birth chart (or natal chart): a map of
the heavens, a snap shot of our solar system at the moment of your
birth. I read and interpret the energy that was present at
the precise moment of your birth.
Huh?
Let me explain... There is a unique quality of energy present in every moment. Step outside during high noon. How do you feel? How does this feeling differ from, say, the way you feel at the stroke of midnight?
Think of how you feel in September, when it's time to return to work or school. It's a different feeling than the one that you get when you sense, deep inside, that spring is just around the corner.
Now, think of the Moon's influence - how its waxing and waning cycles effect the natural world, including human beings. Animals, plants, fish, the tides, and people - all respond to the cycles of the Moon.
The Birth Chart
These are simplified but useful analogies to describe the energy revealed by your birth chart. The moment of your birth was an absolutely unique, precise time of the day and the year, with all its underlying qualities of energy. In fact, it is impossible for any two people to share precisely the same birth chart. In evolutionary astrology, that unique moment says volumes about your potential and your path.
Where was the Sun at the moment of your birth? Where did it fall within the Zodiac? That's your Sun Sign, and it tells much about you.
But astrologers go beyond just the Sun. We ask, where was the Moon at the moment of your birth, and how does that shape you? Where was Venus? Mars? What special patterns and configurations were created by the planets at the moment you were born? What was the push and pull of the planets? The celestial music of the spheres that played at the moment you were born?
All of these influences create energy in your life. Naturally, your family, where you live, and the culture you were born into all have a great impact on your life. But astrology describes what's in your "karmic toolbox": what, ultimately, you came here to work on, despite the beliefs of your family, culture, and time.
I believe that astrology describes precisely, using the language of mythology, spirituality and psychology, the same subtle energy that is at work in our bodies when we are using yoga, acupuncture, homeopathy, or reflexology. Astrology puts that subtle, mysterious energy into words.
The Magic
There is nothing that astrology can teach you that you cannot learn from a spiritual practice, a good therapist, or a committed relationship (the biggest teacher of them all!) The power of my work lies in its speed, clarity, sheer magic, and fun! It is wonderful to hear your essence described in such an uncannily accurate way.
